Membership is open to any Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person, normally or permanently resident in Australia, and over 18 years of age. To become a member the person must apply in writing, and the directors must agree or otherwise notify the applicant of their decision to refuse the application and the reason for refusal.
Within the rules of the organisation a member can ask directors to call a general meeting, put forward resolutions at a general meeting, and attend, speak and vote at general meetings. A member can be made a director and a member can with notice examine records of the corporation.
